A Healthy 33% is a community-driven proposal to reallocate the Unified Government budget in Wyandotte County—directing more of our tax dollars toward essential community services. This initiative aims to strengthen support for vulnerable residents as we face anticipated cuts in federal and state aid to the critical programs that keep us healthy and safe.

What makes up our community services budget?

• Community services include the following departments: Wyandotte County Public Health, Department of Area Aging and Disability, Parks & Recreation, Neighborhood Resources, Transportation, Election Office, Urban Planning and Land Use, and Economic Development.

How much is this increase in dollars?

• With our current revenue, this proposal could direct an additional $10 million into community services. Any decrease in Wyandotte County's tax revenue would reduce this amount. Any increase in Wyandotte County's tax revenue would increase this amount.

Does this increase my property or sales tax rates in Wyandotte County?

• No, this is not a tax increase. We're simply calling for a reallocation of existing tax dollars.

What happens if we don’t increase to 33%?​

• Without action, community service departments may be forced to cut key staff and direct programs we rely on.
